VIZIO SmartCast M-Series Canada

Latest Lineup Features Enhanced Smart TV User Experience with SmartCast Mobile™ Available Now and VIZIO SmartCast TV(SM) Coming Summer 2017

VIZIO, Inc. announced today availability for the Canadian market its all-new 2017 VIZIO SmartCast M-Series Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus Display collection. Powered by VIZIO’s high-performance full-array local dimming backlight technology, XLED Plus, the 2017 M-Series dramatically enhances on-screen content with astonishing brightness, captivating color, radiant contrast and strikingly deep black levels. The series perfectly pairs high-performance picture quality with a robust and intuitive smart TV experience designed with consumers in mind. Available this summer, SmartCast TV will enable viewers to use the included remote to browse featured content and a curated list of apps directly on the big screen. For those who prefer to control their entertainment via a mobile device, SmartCast Mobile is an app available for download for iOS and Android that seamlessly transforms mobile devices into powerful touchscreen remotes. And with Chromecast built-in, consumers can also browse through thousands of apps they know and love on their phones before streaming to the big screen1. The all-new VIZIO SmartCast M-Series Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus Display collection starts at $899 (CAN) for the 50” class size and can be found in-store and online through Costco Canada.

The new M-Series Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus collection captivates audiences with added color performance, image detail and clarity that transforms the viewing experience. Enhanced with enriched brightness, M-Series XHDR Plus™ delivers a wider contrast range revealing details that are often lost in shadows and highlights. Featuring support for Dolby Vision™ and HDR10 content, consumers can enjoy the latest blockbuster moves in High Dynamic range, either streamed to the big screen from supporting apps or through supporting UHD blu-ray players.  Having received Editors’ Choice awards from both CNET2 and Reviewed.com3 in 2016, this year’s M-Series collection looks to build on that success with the addition of Ultra Color Spectrum. By tapping into over one billion colors to produce richer, more vivid color detail, Ultra Color Spectrum depicts every hue and tone with impeccable accuracy for a strikingly vivid picture that further enhances the viewing experience. Those who crave inky black levels will appreciate Xtreme Black Engine Plus which utilizes 32 local dimming zones and VIZIO’s advanced local dimming algorithm to dynamically adapt brightness to mimic the on-screen image. Additionally, Clear Action 360 technology and a 120Hz effective refresh rate achieved with backlight scanning ensure action-filled scenes come across smooth, stable and realistic.

“The new 2017 M-Series collection provides a wide range of screen size choices for Canadian consumers looking for a high-performance HDR picture quality solution,” said Matt McRae.  “The 2017 M-Series displays provide viewers with a marked difference in color detail, with a focus on ensuring every tone and hue is depicted accurately. M-Series also offers an intuitive smart entertainment experience with the introduction of VIZIO SmartCast TV which consumers will be able to access with a traditional remote later this summer.”

As a member of the VIZIO SmartCast collection, every M-Series offers a robust smart TV experience. Available this summer as an over-the-air update to 2016 SmartCast Ultra HD displays and all 2017 SmartCast models, VIZIO is bringing the SmartCast mobile experience to the big screen by making apps accessible directly from the display. The SmartCast TV home screen greets users with content recommendations and favorite apps.  Users can easily browse content with their remote before launching TV shows, movies and more, directly from their display with the touch of a button. A revamped out-of-box experience and easy first-time setup helps consumers get their displays up and running without a hitch. SmartCast Mobile offers yet another way for consumers to access their favorite entertainment.  By simply downloading the SmartCast Mobile iOS or Android app, users can turn their mobile devices into the ultimate touchscreen remote where they can search, browse and stream content and control display settings from any room in the house. Apps like Crackle, Pluto TV, Red Bull TV and more have been integrated into VIZIO SmartCast Mobile allowing viewers to easily search and stream shows from their mobile devices to the big screen.

All VIZIO SmartCast displays feature Chromecast built-in, which allows viewers to browse thousands of Chromecast-enabled apps – including 4K and HDR content from apps like Netflix – on their mobile devices. By simply tapping the Cast button in Chromecast-enabled apps, or using voice to control their display with the Google Assistant on devices like Google Home, consumers can stream their favorite shows and movies right to the big screen. The Quick Start Mode allows VIZIO users to turn on their displays automatically with a tap of the Cast button.  By simply launching a Chromecast-enabled app, users can tap the Cast button and their display will turn on automatically and start streaming the selected entertainment. VIZIO M- and P-Series displays are also compatible with Chromecast Ultra.
